Laboratory Services
Western Arizona Regional Medical Center operates a full-service laboratory accredited by The Joint Commission that provides physicians reliable test results in a timely manner. The laboratory's phlebotomists and medical laboratory technicians collect and process laboratory specimens and perform diagnostic testing on blood and other body fluids such as cell counts, microscopic examination, chemical analysis, coagulation studies and cultures.
The pathologists in the board-certified laboratories provide everything from blood bank services to a wide range of testing capabilities for disease and conditions, including:
- Clinical chemistry
- Coagulation
- Hematology and immunohematology
- Immunology, immunochemistry and serology
- Microbiology and virology
- Urinalysis
We also offer advanced pathology services including:
- Cytology and cytopathology - The study of individual cell biology and abnormalities, often used to diagnose cancer.
- Cytogenetics - Blood or bone marrow cell studies to examine chromosomal changes.
- Histology - The study of tissue under a microscope.
- Molecular pathology and diagnostics - DNA/RNA analysis studies.
- Surgical pathology - The study of tissues removed during a biopsy to help diagnose disease and determine treatment.
Outpatient laboratory services are available on a walk-in basis at Western Arizona Regional Medical Center, 2735 Silver Creek Road, from 7 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday - Friday.
