DAISY Award Nominations
The DAISY Award® for Extraordinary Nurses celebrates the skill and compassion of nurses as they serve patients and their families. The award honors nurses who embody and demonstrate the spirit of nursing. Patients and their families nominate nurses for the award, and are invited to attend a special recognition ceremony if the nurse they nominate is selected for this honor.
The award was created in memory of Patrick Barnes, whose family wanted to say thank you to the nurses who cared for Patrick during the final weeks of his life. The family’s goal was to ensure that nurses know how deserving they are of our society’s profound respect for the education, training, brainpower and skill they put into their work, and especially for the compassion with which they deliver care to those they serve.
DAISY Award® honorees personify the finest qualities of nursing at Western Arizona Regional Medical Center and our commitment to the patients who entrust us with their care. These nurses consistently demonstrate excellence through their clinical skills and extraordinary compassion in the care they give. They are recognized as exceptional role models in our nursing community.
If you would like to nominate a nurse for this award, please share your personal story and describe in detail a specific situation that demonstrates how this nurse made a meaningful impact in your hospital experience. You may submit your nomination by completing the online form below.
